Bruce Antonio Greene was born June 3, 1955, in Savannah, GA to the late Alfred Greene, Sr. and Thelma Greene-Honeyblue. He departed this life on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
Bruce attended Boys High and Erasmus High in Brooklyn, New York and eventually relocated to Savannah, Georgia. He attained Certified Executive Housekeeper status.
Bruce occupied several Managerial and Director Positions in the area of Environmental Services. He worked for Coastal Carolina Medical, Memorial Health, Savannah Square and St. Joseph’s/Candler Health Systems at facilities in South Carolina and Georgia. He practiced his passion and enjoyed working every day with a goal of providing the best patient care in a safe, clean and comfortable environment.
He was a member of Living Hope Community Fellowship Church, under the covering of Pastor Joyce C. Hall, in Garden City, Georgia. He loved praise and worship and did not allow his physical discomfort to inhibit his praise. Bruce understood that praising God—acknowledges His goodness, love, perfection, and all the amazing things God has done for him despite his circumstances.
On September 27, 1997, Bruce married his soul mate Charlotte Gardner-Greene. Their marriage covenant was characterized by an exclusive, continuing and growing commitment.
He is proceeded in death by his father Alfred Greene Sr.; one sister, Althea Greene Turner; two brothers, Alfred Greene Jr; and Ronald Greene.
The memories of Bruce’s life is cherished by his devoted wife, Charlotte Gardner Greene of Hardeeville, SC; his mother, Thelma Greene Honeyblue and stepfather, Wilbert Honeyblue of Savannah, GA; two sisters, Margie Ginn of Laurelton, NY and Celestine Jones of Savannah, GA; one brother: Marquith (Danielle) Greene of Pleasant Valley, NY; and one sister-in-law, Joann Greene of Savannah, GA; one aunt Dorothy (James) Coe; Special Cousin, Gertrude Franklin. His Spiritual sisters, Renee Spencer, Crystal Pirtle and Dyonne Sams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
