Mrs. Carole Tyler Flowers Rea, age 72, passed away at her home in Garden City on January 16, 2015. She was born in Metter, GA on February 5, 1942, to MinnieLee and Redell Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene E. Flowers after eight years of marriage, and Leo M. Rea after 43 years of marriage.
Carole was a homemaker. After raising her family, she went to work at CVS and then Gaster Lumber. She was an avid reader. Carole collected books, and enjoyed sharing her love of books and authors with her family.
Her love for gardening showed in her beautiful landscaped backyard. Each season had flowers blooming whether they were in her yard or in her window garden. She painstakingly fertilized and recorded her efforts to design perfect daylilies. Even her front porch was full of plants she used in her cooking. Needless to say… She had a green thumb.
Carole is survived by her sons Michael Flowers, William Flowers (Linda), Gene Flowers (Linda), and Kevin Rea (Lorraine), daughter Joanie Reeves, grandchildren Chase, Brooke, and Elisabeth Flowers, Meagan Rea, and Samantha Runckle(David), great grandchildren Bryson and Tomas Barrera, her mother MinneLee Tyler, her brother Kenneth Tyler(Melanie), and her sister Patricia Tippins(Larry). She is also survived by her dogs Beau and Tinker Bell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23 from 10am to 12pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral Service will be held at 12pm noon in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
