

She was well known for her baking skills, especially her cinnamon rolls and cookies.
She was a member of Chapel By The Sea Baptist Church at Tybee Island, for the last 50 years. She retired from the Chatham County Board of Education with 20 years of service. She worked 17 years at the Fresh Air Home on Tybee, as her summer job.
She attended Jerusalem and Bible Lutheran Churches for the last 5 years, after moving to Rincon, Ga., with her daughter for help with her illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Stanley, her parents, Elsworth & Lottie Johnson, 3 brothers, E. J. Johnson, Loy Johnson and Herman Johnson, 2 sisters, Luree Johnson and Geraldine Roberts.
She is survived by a son, Billy Stanley (Diane), 3 daughters, Bobbie Poplin (Jeff), Betty Robinson (Nick), and Brenda Stanley, 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Stanley Johnson (Brian), Shawn Sanderlin, Sarah Robinson, and River Stanley; a brother, Melvin Johnson (Myrt), and 3 sisters, Jeanette Duncan (Arthur), Linda Burke (Jackie), and Patricia Johnson, and Several-in-laws, nephews and nieces.
A special thanks for the superior care she received her last few months at Effingham Care Center.
In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to, Chapel-by-the-Sea Baptist Church, Tybee Island or Bible Lutheran Church, Rincon.
Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest West Cemetery.
