
Ernest (Ernie) “Junnie” Laurence Clark, 77, died December 10, 2010 in Pooler under the care of Hospice Savannah.
He was born in Liberty County July 30, 1933. He lived near Fleming for 7 years until he moved to Richmond Hill in 1941. He graduated from Richmond Hill High School as Valedictorian of the class of 1951. Ernie was privileged to attend Armstrong State College, Savannah and St. Leo College, Savannah. He served his country during the Korean War. He retired from Konter Realty Building Division in 2010. His love of entertaining and music was demonstrated by his profession in teaching all rhythms of dancing and calling square dance in numerous club and state programs for the past 40 years. Ernie was a member of the Woodmen of the World Family Fraternity for 58 years.
Ernie was predeceased by his parents Henry Ernest and Iva Clark, 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Estelle Findley Clark, son Gary Laurence Clark (Debra) of Buford, Ga; granddaughter Stacie Clark Petter (Rick), great-grandson Archer Petter, all of Omaha, Nebraska. He is also survived by one sister Margaret Harn (Robert), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of great friends.
Ernie was a member of the West Chatham Baptist Church, Pooler.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Fairhaven Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of the Fairhaven Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery, Dean Forest Road, with Rev. David Stanton, officiating.
