

Frances grew up in Swainsboro and was a 1963 graduate of Swainsboro High School. She was a homemaker most of her life and had worked for the Savannah Morning News, was a certified nursing assistant in the Savannah area, operated her own ceramic shop and had lived in Statesboro, Hiltonia, Savannah and Kingsland.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Shuman; step-son, Keith Shuman; parents, Bessie and Floyd Smith; three sisters, Helen Allmond, Peggy Connelly and Louise Fennell and three brothers, Harry, James and Wayne Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Shuman, Jr. (Kelly) of Lexington, KY and Harry Shuman (Michelle) and two grandsons, Tony and Hunter Shuman of Lumberton, NC.; a granddaughter Karri Rae Shuman, a grandson Stewart Michael Shuman, four great-grandchildren; a step-son Kevin Shuman and step-daughter Capri Patterson of Guyton; four sisters, Gail Stewart of Savannah, Lilly Fennell of Guyton, Betty Anderson of Kingsland, and Nannie Lou Sewell of Cobbtown; one brother Joe D. Smith of Twin City; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., September 18, 2013 at Fairhaven Funeral Home & Crematory, Garden City.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., September 18, 2013 in the chapel at Fairhaven Funeral Home & Crematory, Garden City with Rev. Chris Ogden officiating.
Burial will follow at Bulloch Memorial Gardens, Statesboro, GA.
