Fred Schaefer, 83, died Thursday, January 24, 2013. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Fred graduated from New York State Maritime College and served in the US Navy (LTJG) during the Korean War. He enjoyed his last years at Magnolia Manor in Richmond Hill and at Savannah Commons.
Fred is survived by three sons; Fred Jr. (Michelle) of Missoula, MT, Mark (Kathy) of Savannah, and Eric (Elaine) of Boston, MA. A fourth son, Carl, died in 1981.
Services will be private.
