Gene Morris Schaefer

Gene attended the Bard elementary school in Alexandria, South Dakota and graduated from Fulton High School in Fulton, South Dakota. He was a very dedicated military veteran serving two tours in Vietnam. He worked for CT Transportation for over 20 years and retired several years ago. Gene loved his family and pets; Bert, Lobo, Snowflake and Spice.

He is preceded in death by his parents, an older sister and brother and brother-in-law.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Tameia ; daughter, Cassie; son-in-law, John; and two grandchildren; a sister from Washington, DC and a sister from Mitchell, South Dakota; brother-in-law, Daniel Daley and sister-in-law, Ellen Fay Daley along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, May 11, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Fairhaven Funeral Home in Garden City.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at 3:00 p.m. Glennville Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA.
