

George Vernon Brickey, aka Tanker, 68, passed Friday morning, February 6th, 2015 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was a native of Clinton, TN, living in Guyton, GA for the past 11 years and was of the Pentecostal Faith. George Vernon was a Veteran Combat Marine of the Vietnam War (Semper Fi) and was a proud member of the American Legion. A Past President of the Metrolina Vietnam Veterans Association of Charlotte, NC, and a beloved brother/member of the In Country Vietnam Motorcycle Club. He retired as Terminal Manager of Hoover Transportation.
Preceded by his father, George W. Brickey, Jr. and mother, Dorothy E. (nee: Brittle).
Surviving loved ones are as follows: His wife Cindy Plyler of Guyton; a daughter, Marie Renee Woods of Vandalia, OH; two sons, Barry Christopher Brickey of Concord, NC and Christopher George Brickey of Savannah. A sister, Charlotte Watson of Mt. Holly, NC and Special Nieces Donna Rodgers, Bobbie Hime, Jo Greene and Jane Freeman. 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service for George Vernon Brickey will be held at the Veterans Park in Springfield, G.A., Friday, February 13, 2015 at 3:00pm, with Chaplain Anslem Springer officiating.
Reception for family and friends at the Brickey residence will follow the service.
