
Harold W. (Walt) Geiger, 84, died at home June 28, 2015 after a long illness. He was born October 14, 1930 in Wilmington, Delaware but considered Georgia his home. He retired from American Cyanamid as a foreman, where he was known by many as “Sarge”. He was a veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving ten years in the United States Marine Corps. In the 1980s he, his wife and son owned and operated Safari/Bellaire Woods Fish Camp.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Edna R. Geiger, his parents Nicholas and Blanche Geiger, three brothers and a sister.
Surviving are two daughters: Marilyn K. Geiger (Jerri L. Frost) of Ellabell, Tracy G. Simmons of Bloomingdale; a son Gregg R. Geiger (Mary Jo) of Pooler; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother William M. Geiger (Kathleen) of Newark, Delaware, and several nieces and nephews. He loved fishing, playing cards and big band music.
Funeral services are private, but remembrances can be made to Hospice of Savannah
