

Jan was born in Millington, TN on October 19, 1952. Her military family then moved to Goose Creek, SC where she graduated high school. The family later moved to Savannah, GA; later calling Bloomingdale, GA home where she raised her three daughters.
When Jan moved to GA with her parents and her small child, Toni, she started her career as a secretary for Laurel Grove Cemetery and then for the state of GA. After having her second child, Maggi, she moved to California for 2 yrs. When she returned to GA, Jan pursed her career in welding. While going to school for welding she moved her family closer to her parents in Bloomingdale. After graduating with a degree working for an attorney in Richmond Hill, she had her third child, Jacqui. Feeling what she called her “gypsy-blood” she returned to a brief stint of welding in North Carolina. When she returned home once again, she went to work for an attorney in Richmond Hill until she retired. Jan was also known as the tire lady because she owned and operated J&R Tire in Richmond Hill. Jan was a versatile and accomplished woman in many things.
Jan was preceded in death by her father, Eddie R. Jacques Sr., of Millington, TN; her dad, Cyrus H. Folker, of Bloomingdale, GA and her brother, Eddie R. Jacques II “Deuce” of Bloomingdale, GA.
She is survived by her loving mother, Margaret N. Folker; her sister, Patty N. Taber; her daughters, Toni Rapier, Maggi Lee, and Jacqui Greenwood; her grandchildren Justin Cannon, Hunter Holton, Justis Cannon, Farrah Lee, and Graci Clifton; her nieces, Nancy VanMarter (Ken) and Stacy Martinez (Armando); her great nieces and nephews Tyler, Connor, Sabrina, Sebastian, Reagan and Kennedy; many cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends.
Visitation will be Friday, April 24, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Fairhaven Funeral Home in Garden City with her funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery0n Dean Forest Road.
