

Sarah Elizabeth Cook, age 29, of Eden GA, was born Oct. 12, 1981 in Milledgeville, GA. Sarah passed away quietly in her mother's arms at Candler Hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 18th, 2011. She was the daughter of Jennifer Wilson Cook of Eden, GA and the late Virgil Cook of Augusta, GA. Sarah grew up in Savannah where she made many friends as she accompanied her mother to sell orchids downtown in The Savannah Coffee House owned by John and Ginny Zeuli (Now occupied by the "Lady and Sons" restaurant). She enjoyed the company of the many people she met as she waited for her mother to finish work. Sarah loved being with people and offered everyone a ready smile that radiated pure joy. She was a happy person and one of God's children. Sarah may best be remembered for the photograph of her with her mother made by photographer John Zeuli. This photo, has gone on tour as part of an exhibit entitled, "Keepers of the Spirit". The exhibit was on display in our Capitol building in the Rotunda and later it became part of another display called "Fluency of the Heart". The photo is being used to publicize the needs of handicapped children everywhere.
Sarah is survived by her mother, Jennifer Cook, maternal grandparents Randolph Wilson Sr. and Fayrene Wilson of Savannah, uncle Randolph Wilson Jr., (Debbie) of Roswell GA, Aunt Carla Branch (Randy) of Cartersville, GA, Aunt Martha Lee Smith (Tommy) of Carrollton Ga., Uncle Frank Cook, Uncle Michael Cook, and many loving cousins. She is also survived by mentors and loving friends Dr. Robert and Virginia Logan, Godparents Constance Preston of Savannah, Thomas Gay of Eden, and Wade Key Sr. of Eden, loving caregiver and best friend Mary White of Eden, as well as many other friends and loved ones.
In addition to her father, Sarah was pre-deceased by her maternal grandmother, Betty Alice Rollinson Duggar, paternal grandfather Ivey Cook, paternal grandmother Lorene Cook,
The Visitation will be held at Fairhaven Funeral Home 912-964-2862 at 2794 US Highway 80 West, Garden City, Georgia from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, Jan. 21st. The funeral service, conducted by The Rev. Gavin Dunbar, Rector of St. John's Church, will be held Saturday, Jan. 22 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel at the Fairhaven address, to be followed by a graveside service at Forrest Lawn Memory Gardens.
