William Bert Bert Lance

William Bert Lance, 54, of Savannah died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Candler Hospital.

Bert was a native of Savannah and attended Chatham County Public Schools and also South University. He enjoyed the water and his career followed as he worked as a Shrimper – Fisherman. Bert was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, father John “Johnny” B. Lance and brother John D. Lance, and cousin Ricky Lance.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Millie and Mike Wilson, sister, Melanie Lance; step-brother, Michael Wilson; step-sister, Michelle Wilson Jonas; aunt and uncle, Robin and Bill Lance; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A gathering will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel from 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.; a service to celebrate Bert’s life will follow at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
