Ann Marie Harshman

Ann M. Harshman passed away peacefully of natural causes on April 16, 2011, in the company of her family, at the Emeritus at Brookhurst , an assisted living facility in Westminster, CA. She was 92 years old and had moved to Emeritus earlier this year with her loving husband of 41 years, Glenn W. Harshman

Ann was a 26 year resident of Banning Estates, Banning, CA. Prior to their move to Banning in 1985, Ann and Glenn lived in Santa Ana and then Corona, CA.

Ann was well-liked by all who came to know her whether it be strangers she met while RVing or her neighbors with whom she participated in community activities. She loved to play cards and was a regular at Bingo and enjoyed the dances and social activities at Banning Estates. She and Glenn enjoyed numerous cruises to Mexico and the Caribbean.

Ann was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 26, 1919 to Salvatore and Gaetana Lemmo. She had two brothers, Tom and Charles Lemmo, both now deceased, and a surviving sister, Margaret Lemmo Wheeler. During her working years, Ann held administrative positions in various medical practices and facilities. She and Glenn married on March 28, 1970 at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL.

Ann is survived by her husband Glenn; her son by a previous marriage, Jim Fasano (Bend, OR); daughter-in-law Joan Ryan (Bend, OR); grandson, Christopher Fasano (Ross, CA); great-grandson, Nathan Fasano (Ross, CA); step-daughter, Patricia Harshman (Long Beach, CA); niece Dian Bechtold (Frankfort, IN) and Jane Dundas (Long Beach, CA)

During the last year of her time with us, Ann expressed how fortunate she was to have the attentive and loving care provided by the staff of VNA-IC, Hospice (Banning, CA) and, subsequently, Companion Hospice (Orange County).

Internment will take place 2pm on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, CA.

At Ann’s request no memorial service will take place. However, a Celebration of Life gathering for Ann will be held at the Banning Estates Community Center , 3800 West Wilson, Banning, CA on Wed., May 18, 2011 from 12-3pm. Her friends and neighbors are welcome.
