Carmela Passanisi

Passanisi, Carmela, 89, on Monday, August 12, 2024 passed on peacefully to her Heavenly home, with her family by her side singing Psalms and praying over her. She is survived by her 4 loving children, Sam, Pat, Rose and Frances; and proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren, Christopher, Samuel, Gabriella, Jacqueline and Bernadette. A loving and gracious mother who dedicated her life to her family, worked as a seamstress, served at St. Columban’s Church as a Eucharist minister, served in the Juvenile Detention Center Ministry, and actively participated in many events connected with the church. Also, her strong devotion to Padre Pio carried such a robust love for Jesus Christ in her everyday living, prayers and the Rosary. The family extends their heartfelt love and thanks to our blessed caregivers and hospice nurses, as well as, many thanks to the Priests, friends and staff that loved her at St. Columban’s Church. Vigil will be held at Dimond & Shannon Mortuary in Garden Grove on Sunday, August 25, at 5 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Carmela’s life will be held at St. Columban’s Church in Garden Grove, Monday, August 26, at 10 a.m. followed by graveside service at All Soul's Cemetery in Long Beach.
