Charlie was a hard worker from a very young age. He started working on a dairy farm at 14-years old. In 1954, he married Angelina Perez. Charlie served 3-years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, he joined the union and was a hod carrier for 25-years.
After he retired from the union, Charlie stayed busy. He worked as the head of maintenance at Newport Dunes for 20-years until he retired for a second time! He was one of the hardest workers you would ever meet and he was loved by so many.
Charlie is preceded in death by his wife Angie in 2012. He is survived by six children Carlos (Mike), Bobby, Annie (Glen), Steve (Celia), Gary (Pam), Ernie; ten grandchildren Karla, Janis, (Jason), Freddy, Cody. Victoria (Dev), Shadow, Charlie, Eden and Christopher; and his great-grandchildren James, Dominic, Jett, Jax, Hollie, Summer Moon, Rowan, Booker. He is also survived by one sister Francis, and two brothers Leon, and Frank Chavez Jr. along with many nieces and nephews.
Until we meet again Dad...we all love you!
