David Allen Hudson

David Allen Hudson, Grandpa Dave, age 71, passed away on September 4th, 2023 after a long-term battle with many different medical issues. Grandpa Dave was born August 25th, 1952 in Grand Haven, Michigan from Rosemary Wagner and La Verne Hudson along with his siblings Carol, Dennis, Michael, Danny, and John. While growing up, he greatly enjoyed hunting, gardening, deep-sea fishing, and simply appreciating the outdoors, especially the beach.

Grandpa Dave enlisted in the Navy in 1970, serving a total of 23 years. While stationed in the Philippines, he met his wonderful wife, Lourdes. Their love was extraordinary and they created many unforgettable memories with each other and also with their children, Tammy and Sidney. During his term, Grandpa Dave developed a brain tumor during the Vietnam War. After the removal, he was classified as one hundred percent disabled and was honorably discharged from the Navy. He went back to school and graduated from San Diego State University with honors and was even on the Dean’s List.

Since then, Grandpa Dave’s new life goal was to give his children and grandchildren the best life he was capable of. He cared for anyone and everyone he could, taking his family on fishing adventures, amusement park trips, and of course his favorite- spending many nights at the casino with his wife. All he ever wanted was to see the people around him smiling and having an evident good time. He will be remembered for his caring and loving heart towards people, animals, nature, and God.

A visitation for Grandpa Dave will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dimond & Shannon Mortuary. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Miramar National Cemetery.
