Edward graduated from Banning High School in Wilmington, California in 1947. He eventually started a job at the Texaco Wilmington Refinery in 1952 where he had worked thru several positions. He started as a Union Steward, was then promoted to Management positions in Transportation, and worked his way up to being a Purchasing Manager in the warehouse.
Ed was never a professional sportsman, but he enjoyed playing in community softball leagues and bowling teams. He bowled an almost perfect game in 1977, but a part in the reset system of the bowling lane had broke on his final frame and delayed his play. The bowling alley made him a plaque commemorating the accomplishment, which included the broken part.
Right after retiring from his job in 1984, Ed moved to Morro Bay with his wife, Betty. They were married for 71 years until Betty passed in January of 2020. Edward passed away this year on April 22 at the age of 94. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa.
