Eleanor was born to the late Edward and Eleanor Quirin, in New York, New York on January 30, 1941.
She grew up in New York City and on Long Island. After high school, Eleanor attended college at the University of Delaware and graduated with her bachelor of civil engineering. She worked briefly as a civil engineer before her husband, Robert, a second lieutenant in the Army, was stationed overseas in Taiwan. While there, she developed the curriculum for and taught boys shop, as well as mechanical drawing and math in the Taipei American School.
She lived in several other places throughout her life, including Alexandria, Virginia; Mt. Vernon, New York; Woking, England; and St. Louis, Missouri, before settling in Villa Park, California, where she resided for the past 31 years. She and Robert were happily married for 52 years.
Her family and friends were her love and joy. In addition to her responsibilities as a mom, which included everything from being PTA president to a girl scout troop leader she was a substitute teacher for many years and very active in her local PEO chapter. She loved travelling and visited many places around the world. Her true talent was cooking and so many friends enjoyed her incredible meals, from sukiyaki to homemade pasta, over the years.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Robert F. Loss III; her sister, Barbara Badran; her children, Cathi Killian (and Chris), Robin Loss and Rick Loss (and Dede); and grandchildren, Christophe and Porter Killian. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends.
