Frank Lavern Matney

Many things can be said about Frank Lavern Matney. He was a wonderful father to his children, an adoring & faithful husband to his wife for 50 years, a loving brother and a loyal friend to many. He had an optimistic aura surrounding him that seemed to touch all who knew him. He always had a smile on his face and somehow just his presence could make things seem so much better.

Frank was born on November 1, 1936 in Gilman, Iowa. His parents were Nellie Elizabeth (Wall) and Charles Leroy Matney.

Frank passed away on January 21, 2013, in Westminster, CA, He died peacefully in his sleep probably dreaming of one more trip in his big rig truck.

Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice.. He is survived by his five children: Patrick Matney, Michael Matney, Melissa McCulley (Mitch), Caroline Hernandez (Javier) & Christopher Matney; his grandchildren: Christine Hernandez-Ramsey (Daniel), Josephine Hernandez, Stephanie Holst, Justin Holst and Kaitlyn Matney; and brother and sisters: Fran Matney (Madeline), Faye Christiansen (Hook), Colleen Brown (Jerry) and Marilynn Ask (John).

His passing leaves an enormous whole in the hearts of all who loved him dearly.
