

Ingrid Shelly Gemmell Urrutia was born June 15, 1951 in Guatemala City, Guatemala to Victor and Ofelia Gemmell. She was the 2nd oldest sibling out of 6. Victor worked on the railroads for 20 years in Guatemala. Ofelia was a physical education teacher. Both were hard working people. Ingrid loved to be around family. Also she loved to cook so she was always in the kitchen. Doña Elba is the one who taught her how to cook so many Guatemalan dishes. They were both most famous for their tamales.
At the age of 20, Ingrid moved to the United States to live with her parents and 4 siblings. She worked for Diana Turner, wife of her Uncle John Gemmell. Ingrid didn't speak any English but learned it very fast by watching soap operas like All My Children, One Life to Live and by reading love stories. Two of the first phrases she learned in English were "The sun is shining today is a beautiful day!" and "The sun is not shining today is not a beautiful day." She became the Night Supervisor at Orange County Keypunch after just a few months. Everyone in the office respected Ingrid because she knew how to do the job and did it so well. Later in life, Ingrid was an apartment manager where she lived for many years.
Ingrid then met Caesar Urrutia in of May 1980. After a whirlwind romance, they got married in 28 days! They were married for 41 years. They had 2 wonderful children; Caesar Antonio and Shelly Victoria as well as 2 amazing grandchildren; Elliot Anthony and Brihanna Victoria. Plus four fur grandpups: Trip, T.J., Michael Jackson and Emily. Ingrid was Mom and Grandma to many more than just her biological progeny. There are Mayra, Win, Byron Alberto, Mynor, Victor, Byron Leonel, Sandra, Ofita, Byron Alfredo, Ingrid Priscilla, Paul Michael, Jessica, Ashley, Andre, Alyssa, Lexi, Justin A.J, Heather, Mia, Caesar and many many more. Ingrid was always willing to lend a helping hand to who ever needed help. She was always there for her friends, family and neighbors. Ingrid is loved by so many because she always shared her love with Everyone!
