James Thomas Walker

James Thomas Walker, 66 of Garden Grove, California passed away June 8, 2026.He was born in Tacoma, Washington on April 6, 1960. Growing up he lived in New Mexico and Washington State. He graduated from Rogers High School and attended colleges in Spokane, Washington. Before joining the service, he was a City Golf Pro at Esmeralda Golf Course in Spokane, Washington. He enlisted in the United State Air Force and served from 1985-1991. He was married to Dawn M. Walker on June 13, 1981, in Spokane, Washington. Together they raised a beautiful daughter, Samantha C.F. Walker and enjoyed just shy of 45 years of marriage. James worked in transportation in the United State Air Force and Served in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He was stationed out of Edwards Air Force Base in Lancaster, CA. He remained in transportation even as a civilian working for KKW for nearly 33 years. He was passionate about photography and bike riding, once riding from Washington State all the way to Southern California. James loved the beach and would be seen biking riding down the coast or people watching with his wife. He loved spending time with his daughter, son-in-law and his grandsons. He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind. His surviving wife Dawn M. Walker and daughter Samantha CF Peralta, son-in-law Jorge L. Peralta and his grandsons James M. Peralta Jr. and Jorge L. Peralta Jr. to cherish his loving memories. He is preceded in death by his parents Edwin H. Walker and Cherring M. Walker and his half-sister Pearl D. Mowrer.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518, US, on July 7, 2026, from 10:15 am to 11:00 am.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
