Joseph S. Madej

Madej, Joseph Stanley, 91, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, Technical Sergeant(Radio Operator) , 422nd Squadron of the 305th Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force completed 26 missions on a B-17 . He worked as a salesman both in Chicago and California, retiring at the age of 70. Passed away peacefully on July 31, 2013. Was passionate about the game of golf and following his favorite Chicago sport teams (White Sox, Bears and Hawks). Born on July 1, 1922 in Chicago to the late John and the late Katherine(nee Laskowski), the fourth of seven children, all of whom preceded him in death. Survived by his beloved wife Irene(nee Pempek) of 65 years; loving and devoted father to Christine Hrdina(Dennis), the late Joseph, and Darlene Smith(Tony). He was "Grandpa" to four grandsons; Joseph, John, Christopher and Matthew. Visitation, Thursday August 8th starting at 10: 00 a.m. and lasting until the service at 11:30. at Dimond & Shannon Mortuary 10630 Chapman Ave. in Garden Grove.
