She lived in Manila for 62 years. At the age of 20, she met and married Vicente Ampoon. And so began their life together. Lola's profession was a dress maker, Vicente worked as a physical therapist and messenger. Their common interest was professional dancing. They entered and won many contests throughout their lifetime together. Lola Loved to dress up for the competitions in elaborate costumes. She performed all kinds of dances but particularly loved traditional Philippines dances.

Vicente and Lola were blessed with a daughter Arlene Jacob Ampoon. Arlene met and married Michael Solis Gutierrez, U.S.M.C.M.P. and moved to Southern California. Mike and Arlene had three children, Darlene, Kariann, and Michael.

Lola was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Vicente who died on January 17, 1990. After his death, she left the Philippines and lived with Arlene, Mike, and the grandkids, before moving to Guam where she lived for 15 years surrounded by the many good friends she met at the senior center. She worked at Works Elementary School in Guam as a custodian assistant part-time and occupied her leisure time teaching dance at the senior center and playing cards, bingo, and singing karaoke.

Lola was a devoted Catholic whose faith has assured her a place in heaven with our heavenly father. She leaves behind a network of friends and family who were blessed for having known her and for having her be a part of their lives.
