Lloyd Winfred Cornelius, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 90. He was born on March 8, 1933, in Russellville, Arkansas, to Lloyd and Ruth Cornelius.
Lloyd proudly served his country as a Navy veteran of the Korean War, stationed on the USS Badoeng Strait. His dedication to duty and service to his country were exemplary, and he was honored for his bravery and commitment to defending freedom.
Following his military service, Lloyd embarked on a successful career at Gulf Oil Refinery in Santa Fe Springs, where he dedicated most of his years.
Lloyd is survived by his devoted wife of 73 years, Stella Cornelius Phillips, who stood by his side through life's joys and challenges. He is also survived by his loving sister, Marilyn, and his daughters Zenda and Brenda. He was a cherished grandfather to Tarrell, Ricky, Briaunna, and Riley, and a beloved great-grandfather to Hailey, Sean, Emersyn, and Hudson. Lloyd was a beloved father-in-law to Robbie James and Richard Pando.
Among Lloyd's closest companions was his beloved furry friend, Penny, who brought him immeasurable joy and companionship throughout the years.
Lloyd enjoyed long rides on his motorcycle, camping, spending time with his family, and had a deep affection for his many pets.
Lloyd's life was a testament to the values of love and dedication to family. He touched the lives of all who knew him and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
