Mary Janet Silva, age 76 passed away on March 17, 2022. She was born on February 11, 1946, in Longmont, Colorado. Raised in Long Beach, California where she attended St. Anthony Catholic High School. She would enroll in beauty school where she became a hairdresser for many years. Mary changed careers and worked at Unisys Corporation as a production manager. She was a predominant member of Northeast Garden Grove Little League and was an active parent at Garden Grove High School for 14 years.
Mary loved her family and made sure they were always taken care of. She loved to crochet, make blankets, and collect bells from around the world. Mary cherished all her family traditions of holiday gatherings, making cookies with the grandchildren, and attending all the grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is survived by her loving husband Larry of 55 years, her four children Larry (Cyndi) Silva Jr. of Garden Grove, California, Patrick (Alma) Silva of Moreno Valley, California, Jena (Dave) Silva/Caneda of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Amy (Joe) Deguevara of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild: Alyssa and Robbie Taylor, Gabriella (Brian) and Everlyn Kingston, Samara, Selina, and Jennifer Kelly-Silva, John Silva, Kailani and Malie Caneda, Ethan and Bryce Deguevara. She is also survived by her sisters Esther Gow and twin Mary Martha Joan Silva as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, Patricio and Francis Trujillo, her siblings Benjamin, Helen Jane, and Lucile Grace Trujillo, and grandson Matthew Caneda.
A Visitation service will take place on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Dimond and Shannon Mortuary 10630 Chapman Ave., Garden Grove, CA 92840. A Rosary Service will take place on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Dimond and Shannon Mortuary 10630 Chapman Ave., Garden Grove, Ca 92840. A Prayer service will take place on Thursday, April 7, 2022 11:00 to 11:30 A.M., at Dimond and Shannon Mortuary 10630 Chapman Ave., Garden Grove, CA 92840. A Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 1:45 P.M. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518.
