She was born on June 21, 1928 in McDonald, Pennsylvania and was the youngest of ten children born to Louise and Daniel Gribbin. This created her "Queenie" nickname as everyone thought, being the baby, she was the "Queen" of the house. Her and husband, Steve moved to California in 1966 for health reasons for their two children and thrived in the warmer climate.
Once here she quickly established herself in the community and became the President of the Garden Grove Grenadier Drum and Bugle Corps leading it to win several awards and trophies which were displayed in City Hall. She loved the holidays, church, and music which led her to becoming an active member of church chorus, particularly St. Columban Church for over forty years.
Queenie is survived by daughter Louise Obester, son-in-law Alan Obester, granddaughters Misty Obester and Patricia Obester, grand-son-in-law Steve Buchholz, and great-granddaughter Samantha and Melanie Obester.
