Mike lived a long and blessed 86 years. He was born 10/19/1928 in Wasco, California. He had 4 children – Mike Herrera, Cynthia Herrera, Paul Herrera and Fred Herrera. He is survived by his son Fred Herrera, his nine grand children, and seven brothers and sisters – Tom Herrera, Anna Herrera, Cecilia Saldivar, Bertha Luna, Julia Vasquez, Arthur Herrera, and MaryAnn Herrera.
As an adult, Mike relocated to Orange County and remarried. He worked for many years as a cook for Knotts Berry Farms and then as a Maintenance worker for the Garden Grove School District. In 2010, Mike relocated to Bakersfield to be closer to his family.
Throughout his life he devoted his time to his Catholic Faith and was a man of prayer. He was a sensitive and giving man and contributed to several worthy charities. He enjoyed people, family, books, baseball, and his daily conversations with his brother Tom. Mike loved his Angles (Halos) and spoke fondly of the time his nieces took him to watch a live Angel game.
