

Stella May (Mary) Frances Edwards- Langhorne, lovingly named “Fanny” by her family, was born Oct 30th 1941 to parents Lewis Edwards (deceased) and Annie Mae (Edwards) Fox ( deceased) in Coffeeville, Mississippi. As the 4th of seven children, Stella was born and raised on a small farm before relocating to Alton, Illinois and finally settled in Los Angeles, California in the early 1950’s. Stella graduated from Manual Arts High School before receiving her A.A. from L.A. City College. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree, Stella went on to achieve her Master of Science in Counseling at Azusa Pacific University.
In the early 1960’s Stella was introduced to Horace Langhorne. The two wed July 23, 1966. From this union, the couple was blessed by the births of their children Shannon and Theron.
Stella had a penchant for the arts and an appreciation for familial gatherings. Among her favorite pastimes were Sunday Soul Food dinners and frequent gatherings. She turned her artistic passion into her signature trade. Stelang Creations demonstrated her exceptional abilities as a seamstress while Xzotic Choclit illustrated her chocolatier prowess.
A dedicated Christian, Stella studied the Truth and was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1962. Her faithful service to God’s will never faltered and was observed until her passing.
She is preceded in death by siblings Diane Edwards, Louise Johnson, Hosey Edwards, and Lewis Edwards, Junior.
She is survived by her sisters Catherine Bland and Peggy Edwards. Her children, Shannon and Theron and by her husband Horace. Additionally, a myriad of nephews, nieces and friends.
