Teodora Misenas Ristrom

Over 89 years ago, on November 9, 1925, Teodora Misenas, came into the world in Cavite City on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. She was one of ten brothers and sisters. She was raised in the Philippines and came to the United States with her husband Jimmy and four children Jim, Millie, Dorothy and John in 1953. She settled in the city of Stanton and had four more children Rose, Joseph, Jeff and Jerome. She went on to be not only a grandmother but eventually a great, great grandmother. She was greatly involved with and a leader of the Filipino community especially those involved at St. Polycarp Church and the Diocese of Orange. In 2001, she was nominated for Catholic Woman of the Year, Nominee for Volunteerism by the St. Polycarp Women’s Council. She was also instrumental in starting and in the development of the Federation of Filipino Rosary Groups Orange County. She left this world on Wednesday morning April 8, 2015 and is now I'm sure in heaven with all those she loved who went before her. She was an inspiration to those she worked with and will be missed by her family and many friends.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 6-8:30PM at St. Polycarp Catholic Church 8100 Chapman Ave, Stanton, CA 90680 with a Rosary at 7PM. A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11AM at St. Polycarp Catholic Church. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery at 8301 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach, CA 92646. A Reception will be held to continue the Celebration of Teodora's life at the McLaughlin Hall on the St. Polycarp Catholic Church grounds immediately following the Graveside Services.
