William and his wife, Nancy Angold Hopkins, were married in Niagara Falls, N. Y. , 65 years ago. They met when he was in the Army and she was a student nurse. They have three children, William A. Hopkins Jr. , Timothy J. Hopkins and Lisa Ann Smith.
Bill was the father of Michael D. Hopkins, now deceased, and Robert A. Hopkins.
He has five grandchildren: Timothy R. Hopkins, Gary Smith, William L. Hopkins, Rylee L. Steiner, Jessica Morales; and eight great-grandchildren.
William worked for the city of Santa Ana in the finance department as an accountant for many years.
Bill was an avid golfer and sports fan. He and Nancy liked to travel in their R. V. and to many places abroad.
Bill Hopkins was a long time member of St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in Buena Park. He served on the Vestry in many capacities as Sr. Warden, Treasurer, Jr. Warden, in planning committees, and as an usher, teacher, and consultant.
A memorial service for Bill will be held at the church on February 7, 2025.
