Losing a best friend at 30 is not something I ever prepared for. I’ve been wanting to write on this page for a few weeks but it’s been too difficult. 
Annie is one of the best humans to have ever come into my life. We met at SF state and she would want you to know that me bonded over the fact that we were taking the elevator from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor. However, our connection came from growing up very similarly. The connection we had is one that is incredibly hard to try to explain. Annie and I were always our most authentic selves around each other. Annie was the biggest love bug and I will miss our cuddles and our lazy moments together. I tried to find some photos that represented us, but the truth is friendship is not always measured by the amount of time you are physically together or the number of photos you take. Annie was not only one of the best friends I’ve ever had but she cared about everyone who I cared about. Her love for my mom, my sister, my husband, and my best friends always showed. 10 years of unconditional love will never be forgotten. 

To Annie’s family: You already know this but Annie brought so much joy into this world. When she left SF, a little piece of me was taken. Annie loved each one of you dearly. Annie’s love for her mom was like no other. Annie will forever have a place in my heart. 

I will be there next weekend. 🤍

I met Annie as a student intern at a hospital and was immediately struck by her kindness and compassion. From the start, she treated me as an equal in a space where there were significant power differentials and was supportive in every way. Not only was she hard working and empathetic, she had a great sense of humor and a unique way of connecting with patients and everyone around her. I’ll never forget the bright light and positive impact she left. Her absence was always noticed and her presence was always appreciated. I pray that Annie is resting peacefully and send my love and condolences to her loved ones.

First time I hang out with Annie, it was the time Annie, Linda and I went on lunch.  Annie was full of joy and laughter. From that point forward, we became close. From that moment, I knew she was someone who I call a strong, fiercely and sass person. We became close through work. I am fortunate to work together in the same team in the same unit where we share laughter and joy. My favorite memories is picking her up and we found this cafe shop, she found in love with it. I remember that I told her we can do it again the next time I was going to pick her up to go to work. I love Annie so much and I will miss her.
