his early teen years he became affectionately known by his homies as “TACO”.
Donald attended Main Street Elementary, Carver Jr. High, and Locke High School. At the age of 12, Donald joined Olive Branch Baptist Church in Watts, California and along with his sister
Eva, he attended Sunday School and later the two were baptized.
The one thing that he was passionate about was sports. At an early age his father would pitch baseballs to him perfecting his ability to swoop up ground balls. As a young teen he played with
a junior league sponsored by the Newton Street Police Dept. and received several trophies. He remained an avid fan of the Dodgers, Lakers, and Raiders.
One of Donald’s strongest attributes was dedication. Whatever he focused on doing or being, he carried it all the way through. Some might even say he was “stubborn” or “loyal” to the cause.
Although he never married, Donald fathered two sons: Donald Petty Jr. and Shaquil Petty residing in Arkansas; bonus sons Juantay Jackson, Deymon Webb, and Keith Smith of Arkansas.
Memories of Donald will be cherished by children Donald Jr. & Shaquil, his brother Ken Stroughter (Coletta) of Colorado Springs, CO, his sister Eva Allen (Dwight) of Los Angeles, CA,
his girlfriend Miya Holmes of Los Angeles, CA, Nephews: DeAndre (Serena), LeAndre, William II, of Moreno Valley, CA, Dwight Jr. (Dyamond) of Hemet, CA. Nieces: Brandi of Los Angeles,
CA and Andrea of Moreno, Valley, CA. A host of very close cousins all of California, and a gang of friends from the hood and all over Los Angeles.
