Kris Kakita was born on December 20, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, to Mary Honda and Sam Isami Kakita. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era, enlisting in April 1968 and completing four years of service as a Fuel Specialist through April 1974.
Following his honorable military service, Kris pursued higher education and graduated from the University of West Los Angeles in December 1999 with a degree in Criminal Law from the School of Paralegal Studies.
Kris was known for his passion for photography, being a loyal friend, and for his quiet dedication to the people and places he loved. He is survived by his aunt and several cousins.
