

Agustino Michael Evangelista, lovingly known as Mike, Junior or Juney, was born on August 13, 1935, in New York City. He passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, in San Pedro, California, at the age of eighty-nine.
Son of Michele and Elena Evangelista, and as the only son of first generation Italian American parents, Mike held a cherished place in their hearts. His life was a testament to the values of love and family, and he will be remembered for the warmth and joy he brought to those around him.
Mike is lovingly survived by his wife of 32 years, Margaret (Margie) Evangelista, his three daughters, Dona Leong, Lisa Evangelista, and Michele Evangelista-Willis, his son Michael Evangelista and his stepdaughter, Sharyn Martinez. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved stepson Brian Andrus, whom he loved as his own. He had twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mike was a Golden Gloves Boxer, an aspiring actor, a US Marine, a Car Dealership Owner, and a Manger in the Car business that spanned 50 years. He loved to sing, especially in public, claims to have written “I Left My Heart In San Francisco,” and could Lindy like no other. During retirement, Mike loved to garden, admiring the “North 40” at every opportunity.
Mike was warm, generous, unassuming, grateful, hardworking and compassionate. His love, wisdom and strength will guide us, and his memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration. He recognized the joy in simple moments and his legacy will live on through our families.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 8, 2025, at the Lighthouse Mortuary in Gardena, at 1016 W. 164th St, from 4 to 8 pm. Internment services with Military honors will be held on February 10, 2025, at Riverside Memorial Cemetery at 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside at 11am.
