Patricia Araiza, lovingly known as Mamá Paty and Concha, passed away peacefully at home on December 14, 2025, at the age of 81, under hospice care and surrounded by the love of her family. After facing heart and lung failure with remarkable strength and grace, she spent her final days in peace and comfort, held close by those who cherished her deeply and grateful for the time they were given together.
Born in San Ildefonso, a municipality in the San Vicente department of El Salvador, Patricia was the daughter of Rosa Flores and Isabel Panameño, both of whom preceded her in death. She carried her Salvadoran roots with pride, holding fast to the traditions, faith, and values that guided her life and became the foundation for generations of her family.
Patricia was the proud mother of five children. She endured the unimaginable loss of one child in infancy and continued forward with courage, raising her four surviving children with boundless love, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion. She is survived by her children and their families: Marlene and her husband Victor; Wilson and his wife Rosa; Edward and his wife Fanny; and Nelly, who shared more than 30 years of marriage with Adam. Her children were her heart, her purpose, and her greatest joy.
She was a loving grandmother to Cristal, Karla, Kristie, Jonathan, Paloma, Henry, Eddie, Katelyn, Amadeus, Noah, Camila and Taffy, each of whom she welcomed with warmth, tenderness, and an open heart. She found deep joy in her role as a great-grandmother to Isabelle, Onyema, Alozie, Leon, and John, whose presence brought her light, laughter, and comfort in her later years.
Patricia is survived by her brothers, Ramón and Isabel (“Chavelo”), and was preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Rubia, Hildaura, and Elva.
Patricia was the heart of her family: a steady presence, a quiet protector, a storyteller, and a source of wisdom and unconditional love. Her warmth, her laughter, and her strength will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the many lives she touched.
