Shermetis Antonio Noel was born on August 26, 1963, in Colon, Panama where he lived until the age of five before moving to Denver, Colorado. He is the eldest of four siblings. In June 1980, he moved to Los Angeles with his family. Although he moved from Denver, the Bronco’s remained his favorite football team, however after working at the Dodger Stadium with his cousin Luis, the Dodgers became his secondary team.
Shermetis enlisted in the Marine Corps shortly after High School. However, he was a man that listened to the beat of his own drum and lived life on his terms, which he did until his last days. He had a good sense of humor, loved his family, and was willing to do whatever it took using the wits that God gave him. He never made excuses about his life choices but was honest about the twists and turns that he took in life, and how his choices could have been better.
Shermetis found a passion in Stay Free Ministries where he helped countless of people on the road to recovery and independence. He loved watching movies, watching sports, playing poker, and eating good food. He would call around on holidays to see what was on the menu for dinner. Most memorable to his grandkids would be how he played Santa Claus on Christmas and hand delivered gifts making his rounds that day
