

Tyrone Vernon Baham was born on March 10, 1938 in Madisonville, Louisiana. At the age of 6, he was raised in the Tommy Lafon Orphanage for 10 years under the Sisters of the Holy Family. After leaving the orphanage, he enlisted in the United States Navy in April 1955. At the age of 17, in July 1955, he came home on boot leave where he met his wife Ruth Ann Blatcher whom he married in January 1957. Tyrone became one of the best car painters in New Orleans working for Auto Painting and Repairing and was sought after by Mossy Motors and became their painter. In 1987, Tyrone and Ruth moved to Los Angeles, California. He was hired by the County of Los Angeles at Harbor UCLA as a painter in the mechanical department. After 20 years, he retired in 2008.
Tyrone is survived by his wife, Ruth, of 67 1/2 years, his two daughters Trini Baham Raleigh (Thurmond) and Tyralynn Marie Baham, and three grandchildren Fallon Raleigh Leau (Michael), Damian Michael Raleigh and adopted grandson Branden Rayvon Smith. He is survived by his brothers Marx, Clarence, and Carey Baham; sisters Janice Causey, Veronica Romant, Patsy White, Sheryl Louis, Caroline Faulk, and Angela Baham; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends from Harbor UCLA.
He is preceded in death by his mother Eva Hyde Baham, his father Vernon Louis Baham, his sister Mary Louise Baham Gabriel and his two brothers Richard Don Carlos Baham Sr. and Fenwick Francis Baham.
Services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church at 25511 Eshelman Ave, Lomita, CA 90717 at 10 a.m. Father Paul Spellman, officiating.
