Barbara Ruth Dover

Barbara Ruth (Woody) Dover, 69, of Gastonia passed away Monday October 9, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. Barbara liked the simple things in life. She was humble and thrifty. She enjoyed cooking for others and going to flea markets. She will be missed by many.

Barbara is the daughter of the late Jessie Stone.

Left to cherish her memories are her fiancé Larry Deputy of Gastonia, her mother Ruth Stone of Gastonia, daughter Rachelle Woody of Gastonia and son David Woody and wife Amanda of Anderson, SC. Missing their grandmother are her grandchildren: Jamie, Tim and Dalton.

A Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday October 14, 2017 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054. Reverend Alvin Melton will officiate and offer words of encouragement and support to family and friends who gather to remember Barbara. Active pallbearers are: Robert Deputy, Jeff Deputy, Dalton Machen, Scott Curtis, Ray Welch and Chris Welch.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service. Friends may also visit the family at Barbara’s home in Gastonia.

A graveside committal will be held immediately following the Celebration of Life service at Gaston Memorial Park in the War Memorial Garden.
