Bervnia "Berbie" Jackson Welch

A native of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late David Cullwell and Eliza Ruff Jackson.

Mrs. Welch was an active member of South Gastonia Church of God.

She is survived by her children, Larry Welch, Ken Welch and Sherry Welch, all of Gastonia; daughter-in-law, Hazel Welch; grandchildren, Joy Ewart and husband Jerry, Penny Diane McPherson and husband Van, and Doug Welch; great grandchildren, Heather, Christopher, Whittney, Adam, Andrew and Matthew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dathie Elfus Welch; children, Marshall, Jimmy and Ronnie Welch; great-granddaughter, Mara Messer; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia with Revs. Bobby Gilley and Sam Barnette officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Hollywood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
