He was born in Lancaster, S.C., son of the late Alfred Amos and Ila Faye Roberts Caskey.
Mr. Caskey was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Roland Black Heating and Cooling, Inc. After retirement, he delivered newspapers for the Gaston Gazette. He attended Spencer Mountain Baptist Church.
Mr. Caskey is survived by his wife of 38 years, Vickey Caskey; one son, Joey Caskey and wife Winn of Gastonia; one daughter, Cheryl Reeves and husband Donnie of Gastonia; one sister, Frances Flannery of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Erin Caskey, Addison Caskey, Christopher Reeves, April Reeves of Gastonia; two great grandchildren, Makala Rhyne, Jayden Smith of Gastonia.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Spencer Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Chase White officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with Military Honors by the United States Air Force.
Mr. Caskey was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elsie Gillespie, Dot Blalock.
