

"If you truly love Nature, you will find Beauty everywhere." Bill “Billy” James Williams, 61, of Cherryville loved nature and being outdoors. Bill quietly passed away Sunday April 3, 2016 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Bill was a Gaston County native and a long time Cherryville resident. Bill was a kind man who never had a bad word to say about anyone. He loved all animals. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Bill was the son of the late Pruitt Williams and Annie Ruth Robinson Williams. He was also preceded in death by one brother Larry Williams.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 16 years, Mildred Bryant Williams of the home; two brothers: Donald Keith Williams and wife Tina of Dallas, Jimmy Williams and wife Edith of Gastonia; two sisters: Betty Woodward and husband James of Gastonia and Joyce Brown of Gastonia.
Bill also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Brutus.
A memorial service will be held at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054 at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2016. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Offering words of encouragement to the family and conducting the service will be the Reverend Harold Ashe. The soloist for the service is Dwight Hall.
Inurnment will follow in the Garden of Hope at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bill’s honor to the Gaston Humane Society, 114 Sherrill Road, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054
