

The best place to catch Bobby Hoyle was in his special “man cave” in the garage of his home where he enjoyed spending his time watching Fox News alongside his cat, Gizmo, or fishing at his favorite pond. Bobby Edward Hoyle passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 27, 1939 in Waynesville, NC. After graduating Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later worked and retired after 40 years of service from Ti-Caro Dixie Yarns. He will always be remembered by his family as a great story teller, avid fisherman, witty and a man who loved his grandchildren. Bobby also loved to play and coach softball. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 45 years, Reola Hoyle of Gastonia, NC; five children, Dean Fletcher of Gastonia, Chris Hoyle of Gastonia, Libby Riley and husband Eric of Gastonia, Dana Bumgarner of Gastonia; grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Hunter, Taylor, Parker and Piper; brother, Glenn Davis of Vass, NC and sisters, Mary Ellen Yelton and husband, Robert “Shot” of Gastonia, Carolyn Green of Mountain City, TN; very special neighbors and friends, Beverly and Greg McDonald; several great-grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by his step-father and mother, Frelo and Gladys Davis, daughter, Gayle Fleming and brother, Gary Hoyle.
A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Lewis Farm, 330 Lewis Road, Gastonia, NC 28054. Reverend Matt Kuiken from First ARP will officiate.
A private burial will take place at Gaston Memorial Park for the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of Gaston County, 306 S. Columbia St. Gastonia, NC 28054.
