Brenda Kaye Dellinger Hollifield, 82, of Orlando, FL, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 16, 2023. Born in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde E. and Lucy Marie Broome Dellinger.
Brenda loved the Lord and her family and had been a dedicated military wife. Brenda also never met an animal she didn't spoil. She enjoyed many sports - especially tennis, gardening and all kinds of puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Tilman Hollifield; son, James Timothy Hollifield; twin sister, Glenda Purkey; brother, J. Boyce Dellinger.
Survivors include daughters, Sheila K. and Valerie R. Hollifield, both of Orlando, FL; sister, Joyce Harkey of Gastonia; sister-in-law, Doris Dellinger of Charlotte; nieces, nephews and numerous other family members; "adopted" son, Michael R. Wilson of Clermont, FL.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Gaston Memorial Park.
