Carlene Adcox Williams

A strong godly woman who was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother best describes Carlene Adcox Williams who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. She was born January 19, 1920 in Cumberland County to the late Albert and Julia (Dallas) Adcox. Carlene loved to sing, enjoyed traveling and was an excellent cook. She was very creative and always made holidays very special for her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Bonnie Jansen and husband, David of Gastonia, Becky McKay and husband, Russ of Gastonia; five grandchildren, Scot McKay, Heather Bernardo, David McKay, Barry Williams and Robert Jansen; ten great-grandchildren; brother, John Adcox of Augusta, GA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Williams, son, Bob Williams, one sister and two brothers.

A celebration of her life will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, July 28, 2017 at Carothers Funeral Home chapel in Gastonia. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
