Dale Curtis Dunn

His Active-Duty career with the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg in 1968, Dale pursued his lifelong dream of electronics repair by completing a rigorous two-year Electronics Engineering degree. After honing his skills for several years as an apprentice, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own successful business. He proudly walked this path for nearly 45 years before his well-deserved retirement.

Beyond his professional success, Dale was a deeply devoted husband and a loving father to his twin sons, Leon and Deon. He was a constant, supportive presence in their lives, never missing their football games or wrestling matches. He frequently gave back to their teams by donating half-time refreshments and providing financial support for away game travel.

Dale also cherished the lake life, spending every weekend creating beautiful family memories on their boat at Lake Wylie. His pride in his sons’ milestones was boundless; he happily traveled to celebrate Deon’s college graduation at Western Carolina University and Leon’s graduation from the Air Force Basic Training Course in San Antonio, Texas. Dale made it a priority to never let a week pass without calling his boys to hear their voices and remind them how proud he was of them. A man of strong values and community impact, Dale achieved the rank of Master Mason and was highly active in the local North Carolina Shriners Association.

Dale is survived by his two twin sons, Leon Dunn and his wife Laura Dunn, MD, and Deon Dunn and his wife Patti Dunn, as well as his cherished grandson, Grayson Dunn.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah Dunn; his parents, Curtis and Ruth Dunn; and his sister, Linda Patterson.

His legacy of absolute commitment to his family, friends, and community will be forever remembered.
