Deborah Jones Harris

Debbie was born on August 11, 1954, in Greensboro, NC to the late Frank Taft Jones Jr. and the late Salenah Keller. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her brother, Steven R. Jones.

She was a woman who found joy in life’s simple comforts. She loved the sight of cardinals, the familiar warmth of classic television—especially Everybody Loves Raymond—and the companionship of animals, with dogs holding a special place in her heart. Her family meant everything to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She also enjoyed collecting bobbleheads and listening to country music, small pleasures that brought her happiness throughout her life. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit and her steady love for those around her.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Ray Harris; daughter, Tracy (Adam) Greene and their two children, Christian Greene, and Katherine Greene; son, Tommy Harris (Suzy Colucci); and siblings, Frank Jones (Barbara) and Karen McFetters.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10:00 am - 10:45 am at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Dr., Gastonia, NC 28054. A celebration of life service will follow in the Funeral Home's Chapel at 11:00 am, followed by a committal service at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
