Diamond Michael Psarianos

Diamond Michael Psarianos, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, August 7, 2025, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Diamond is survived by his wife of 44 years, Maria (Topaltzas) Psarianos; children, Michael D. Psarianos and Stamatia A. Psarianos; grandchildren Carter A. Psarianos and Emma S. Psarianos; sister, Irene (Valsamis) Lambadaridis; many nieces and nephews; sister-and brother-in laws; bonus grandchildren; and friends and family around the world. He is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Stamatia (Mihalios) Psarianos.

Born on March 4, 1954, in Athens, Greece, Diamond became known as “Johnny Hotrod” for his street racing on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. He loved working on muscle cars and his passion was restoring classic cars. His prize possession was his ‘70 Chevelle. He enjoyed riding on his motorcycle and sharing those experiences with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, sibling, and friend. His family was his top priority and he took pride in providing for them through the duration of his life, even after retiring in 2021. He had a soft spot for animals and was the proud parent of various cats and dogs including Bosco, Damu, Jack, Scar, Sylvester, Garfield, Rudy and Hercules.

Diamond was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was hands-off in the kitchen but made up for it on the grill. When he wasn’t working or spending time with family, you could find him relaxing with his wife while watching shows such as NCIS and Tracker.

The visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston memorial park at 2205 Williamsburg Dr, Gastonia, NC 28054. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 16, 2025 with the entombment to follow behind the funeral home at 2205 Williamsburg Dr, Gastonia, NC 28054.
