Edith Mae and Jimmy Paul Williams

Edith and Jimmy Williams have both gone to their heavenly homes. Edith passed on Thursday August 12, 2021 in Gastonia and her dear husband, Jimmy passed on Monday August 16, 2021 in Gaffney, SC. This couple was married for 64 years here on earth and they will be spending eternity as a couple in heaven. The two of them will be dearly missed.

Edith is the daughter is the late Bessie Bath (Farris) Holland William Grady Holland. Jimmy is the son of the late Jesse Lee (Shirley) Williams and Pruitt Williams. The couple’s daughter, Susan, precedes them in death.

Left to cherish their memories of Edith and Jimmy are their children, Ronnie, Bruce and his wife Wanda, Charles, Mark, Melinda and her husband Kendal Adams, Jessie and her husband Kevin Gafford and Diana and her husband Dwayne Moore. The couple leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Edith’s sisters, Ruby H. Voyles, Sandra Ward, and Peggy Peters as well as Jimmy’s sister Betty and her husband James Woodward also survive the couple.

A celebration of Edith and Jimmy’s lives will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday August 19, 2021 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow the celebration of lives service at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont. Daniel Williams, Caleb Williams, Greg Williams, Jonathan Williams, Barry Holland and Robert Brown are active pallbearers and Buster Street is an honorary pallbearer.
