Edna Lee Harrison

Edna Lee Harrison, 86, of Gastonia, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025. Born on December 28, 1938, in Gastonia, she was a beloved daughter of the late O. Hunter Harrison and Maggie Lee Cobb Harrison.

A proud graduate of Frank L. Ashley High School, Edna dedicated her life to kindness, service, and unwavering faith. She was a cherished member of Loray Baptist Church, where she found strength in her beliefs and community.

Edna’s passion for helping others was evident in her work at the Gaston County Library and as a school bus driver for the county. She had a heart that welcomed all and an optimism that saw the good in everyone, no matter the circumstance.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who will continue to honor her memory. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her brothers, Carroll H. Harrison, David L. Harrison, John B. Harrison, and Jerry W. Harrison; as well as her sister, Ruby E. Harrison James.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park with The Reverend Kent Cranford officiating.
