'She Dedicated Her Life to Educating Children as a School Teacher'

Eleanor Reba Gathings, age 88, went to be her Lord on Monday ~ June 22, 2020 at Clemson Downs in Clemson South Carolina. Eleanor proudly obtained two masters’ degrees in education.

Grieving the loss of their aunt are her two beloved nephews: Stewart Powers and wife Ann S. Powers of Central South Carolina, and Charles “Chuck” Powers and wife Barbara of Atlanta, Georgia.

She was the daughter of the late William Gathings and Vivian Dalton Gathings.

A Life Well Celebrated Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday ~ June 27, 2020 in the Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.

Graveside and Committal will follow in the Masonic Garden at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.

Eleanor was a friend and faithful attender of Broadway Baptist Church In Louisville Ky. I will be praying for her family. I remember going on a trip with her to Nashville and she played the piano in the lobby of the Opryland Hotel. She was a very talented person.
